KLEIN CONSTANTIA - Mme Marlbrook 2005 75cl Bottle

New stocks arriving approimatley end of August/ beginning of September. A first from Klein Constantia, this blended white wine expresses their viticultural potential for the production of fine white wine. Based on Semillon, the blend contains Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and a lick of Muscat de Frontignan and has been matured in barrels for 11 months. A complex, multi-layered wine, it opens up beautifully in the glass and reveals its profound depth on the palate. Initially the palate shows minerally, greengage flavours associated with Semillon, and is perhaps slightly honeyed. The palate plays out to a feat of juicy tropical fruits and a broad creamy palate, all the while stayed by the influence of oak and the ever-present, delightful fresh floral tones of Muscat de Frontignan. With its high percentage of Semillon, barrel fermentation and maturation, this wine should develop well for the next 8-10 years provided storage conditions are optimal.
