CASA LAPOSTOLLE - Sauvignon Blanc 2007 75cl Bottle
Harvest: Hand-harvested from the 2nd to 22nd of April 2004. Vintage: The winter 2003 was dry in Chile with low level of rains that induced a budding 10 days earlier than usual. In Spring, temperatures were normal with just one rain at flowering time. Summer started with rather warm temperatures, average temperatures above 20C, and maxima reaching 32-34C. No rain was registered. The precocity of the year observed at the early stages of the growth slowly decreased in some situations, with only a few days differences at 'veraison'. Finally harvest took place between one and two weeks earlier than the previous vintage. Vinification: Must was fermented 15 days between 26-28C, followed by a 10-15 days post fermentation maceration. 55% of the blend was aged for 10 months in first, second and third years old French barrels. 45% of the blend was aged in stainless steel tanks. Bottled in October 2005. Tasting Notes: Intense red ruby colour. An expressive nose with elegant aromas of red fruits like ripe strawberries and currant. In mouth the 'attaque' is perfumed with red and black fruits, such as blackberries and cherries. In the medium palate this elegant wine is supported by a really good structure with fine and delicate tannins. The end of mouth is persistent and suggests coffee notes .
