ASARA - Shiraz 2001 75cl Bottle

Another warm winter led up to the harvest of 2001, and this, together with lots of wind during October/November 2000, was instrumental in generating a smaller crop than expected. Fortunately the colder southerly and south-westerly winds during December 2000, January 2001 and the first two weeks of February 2001, provided a cool growing and ripening period for Asara. Their white grapes ripened with a high level of flavour retention. During the last four weeks of the harvest, the average day temperatures increased sharply which caused the red grapes to ripen at sugar levels above 24 Degrees Balling.
