Domaine Lalande Viognier 2006 WHITE France

Deep in the heart of the Languedoc thirty miles from the walled city of Carcassonne lies the award-winning Domaine Lalande. This historic estate was built by the architect behind the famous Canal du Midi which runs through the region. The estate's charismatic winemaker is the straight-talking Ausssie Richard Osbourne who has one simple aim ... to make wine that expresses pure fruit character. To give him the best starting point the 20 year old Viognier vines are planted in cool climate vineyards perfect for this variety and the grapes are picked in the cool of night to preserve every nuance of peach and nectarine flavour. Dazzlingly intense this super-fresh golden Viognier has plenty of rich apricot and peach flavours. Delicious with stir-fried prawns or creamy mild chicken curries.
