Domaine Bisconte Chardonnay 2005 WHITE France

Monsieur Xavier Fons is a winemaker with a devotion to quality that's all but unecomoical - and born moments from the vineyard he's never considered moving away in 40 years. He has won 90 points from Wine Spectator and medals in Paris and is loved locally for opulent buttery Chardonnay that puts much Burgundy in the shade - twice triumphing at the Chardonnay du Monde competition. Yet so as to protect local grapes officials have outlawed 100% Chardonnays! So that means this wine must be labelled a lowly Vin de Pays despite the quality only old vine richness can deliver. Lovely golden mandarin and peach flavours.
