Champagne by no means has the monopoly on high quality sparkling wines. The joy of this vintage bubbly from the south of France lies in its gentle acidity and prominent ripe fruit flavours. It's made the same way as Champagne - by the methode traditionnelle - in a region said to have invented sparkling wines as long ago as Dom Perignon in Champagne. Either way it's sheer class - beautifully made and so ripe tasting it could almost be from the 'New World'. Cuvee du President has been a Club institution for years and has accumulated a stack of prestigious Gold Medals.
