Vincent Boutin 'Cuvee des Artistes' Chardonnay 2006 WHITE France

Vincent Boutin 'Cuvee des Artistes' Chardonnay 2006 WHITE France
A deliciously fresh modern Loire white from the Chainier family who have three properties and are based in Chateau de la Roche a dwelling once used by Cezanne. Winemaking at the estate really is a family affair with Pierre and Anne's three sons assisting them in all vineyard tasks. 2006 was an excellent vintage in the Loire Valley and the Chardonnay grapes achieved full ripeness giving this wine a deliciously full concentrated body with incredibly intense pear and lemon fruit flavour. Cuvee des Artistes is a Loire Chardonnay made in a fresh minerally unoaked style very much like the wines of Chablis just a little further east. Packed with zesty citrus and hints of flint it's delicious on its own or partnered with fish and seafood dishes.
