Terrasses de Saint Georges 2003 WHITE France

Delighfully creamy with just a hint of spice on the finish Terrasses de St Georges takes its name from the terraced vineyards typically of the hilly terrain found in the Cotes Catalanes and the patron saint of French Catalunya Saint Georges. Consultant winemaker Herve Saberdeil has lived all his live in this region of France and relishes the fact that he can make top quality wines from local grape varieties. To make this clean fresh-tasting white he uses grapes from ancient Maccabeu vines. Aged up to 90 years old these gnarled vines give VERY low yields resulting in a beautifully concentrated richly flavoured wine. Herve then adds a dash of much-loved Sauvignon Blanc to give extra zest and zing ... we think you'll love it! "Freshly-cut green apple aromas are complemented by peaches and cream flavours with a touch of subtle spice. Full and fresh seafood is its obvious partner but it also makes a superb aperitif."
