Sturt and Hume Chenin Colombard 2004 WHITE Australia

Sturt and Hume Chenin Colombard 2004 WHITE Australia
Named after two early 19th Century explorers (Sturt was the first explorer to venture along the Murray River) the Sturt & Hume range is a small selection of wines that we put together with careful blending at Buronga Hill each year. Winemaker Matt Fawcett - who worked at Brown Bros for many years - created this crisp and refreshing Chenin Blanc with a splash of Colombard for added zest from the hot ripe 2003 vintage. In style it's a thoroughly modern Australian wine - unoaked and with beautifully defined fruit. At less than 12% alcohol it is deliberately more elegant than the big heavy Australian Chardonnays that have flooded the market in recent years.
