Roux Pere et Fils 2004 WHITE France

Father and son team Rend Emmanuel Roux produce stunningly good whites. Serena Sutcliffe MW rates this "a very good domaine" and we've been sufficiently impressed to buy from them throughout the last 12 years. With ambitions to rival Meursault's most famous domaines no effort is spared in crafting this small volume wine. And with opulent luscious Meursault the benchmark of fine whites this represents excellent value too. Lemon green in colour with steely fresh aromas. Soft texture peachy flavours and a lovely elegant finish. After the challenges of the roasting hot 2003 (Pinot on steroids as one critic put it!) 2004 has seen Burgundy return to the form that has made it the world's 'gold standard' for serious whites and sensual reds. Welcome back aroma finesse freshness and purity of flavour.
