Pontilles Sauvignon Blanc 2004 WHITE France

Pontilles Sauvignon Blanc 2004 WHITE France
The writer broadcaster and Master of Wine Jancis Robinson (among many others) reckons parts of France's sunny south are now producing some of the most interesting best value and hand crafted wines to be found in the country. And certainly this richly concentrated Sauvignon twitched judges noses and tantalised their well-worn tastebuds at London's International Wine Challenge. Its 100% pure Sauvignon grapes - grown on higher and therefore slightly cooler slopes - has delivered a rich wine with gooseberry aromas and a nicely rounded ripe melon flavour. For those of you who like their whites a littles less tangy and grassy than Loire or Kiwi Sauvignons.
