Mas de Chabert Picpoul de Pinet 2006 WHITE France

Mas de Chabert Picpoul de Pinet 2006 WHITE France
Crisp flavours delightful minerally edge ... you could easily mistake Picpoul de Pinet for a classic from the Loire. This stunning white from the Mediterranean coast is overdue a revival. Picpoul rarely found outside of southern France is often called "the Muscadet of the South". It's at its best grown around the village of Pinet where cooling sea breezes add intensity and freshness to old vine (vieilles vignes) fruit. Add a top vintage for aromatic whites and a star winemaker (ex of Chateau Lafite Rothschild) - and the results are perfect! Fresh and crisp with flavours of apple citrus and pears with a hints of spice and minerality on the finish. "Wonderful especially when drunk with oysters" (The Observer) ... in fact any seafood!
