La Croix des Cabustines Chardonnay 2005 WHITE France

La Croix des Cabustines Chardonnay 2005 WHITE France
2005 in the Languedoc was a hot classic vintage. Careful sourcing from cooler ocean-influenced vineyards has created a wine with great ripeness of fruit yet still maintaining a mineral complexity. This cuvee pays homage to the cross that dominates the premium "Cabustines" vineyard which has for years bountifully provided fruit for this wine. The winemaker is local boy Herve Sabadeil. He has carefully selected premium grapes from the best vineyard plots using his knowledge of locality and terroir to create a wine of depth and complexity. In addition to a plethora of medals (he won 29 in 2005 alone) Herve has also the prestigious honour of praise for his winemaking from Robert Parker in the Wine Spectator. Full ripe citrus flavours wrapped in creamy vanilla oak plus a winning hint of spice. A gentle slumber in oak adds extra layers of delicious complexity.
