Fief du Temple Chardonnay 2005 WHITE France

Fief du Temple Chardonnay 2005 WHITE France
This Loire white to rival Chablis boasts an "exceptional" vintage first-rate winemaking from our old friends the Bourgriers and a prestigious Gold medal. With its crisp citrus minerality and creamy peach flavours you'd expect Fief du Temple Chardonnay 2005 to hail from pricey Chablis or an expensive village in Burgundy. It doesn't - it comes from the Loire Valley where Chardonnay is rare but when it's good it's very good ... and offers amazing value. Noel and his family have five generations of Loire expertise and know-how under their belt. Yet even these old hands have been impressed by the vintage's flavour. Pale gold in the glass with tantalizing aromas of freshly sliced green apples lemons and pears. Nicely concentrated flavours of citrus and creamy peach layered with a crisp minerality - and a long refreshing finish too. A lovely glassful itself even better with seafood fish and vegetable stir-fries.
