Farnese Trebbiano 2005 WHITE Italy

Mouthwateringly crisp and fresh Trebbiano grapes are hand-picked from vineyards high in the Abruzzo hills and gently oaked in the cool cellars of Casale Vecchio (the old castle) under the watchful eye of winemaker Filippo Baccalero. The result: freshly-sliced pear and ripe melon flavour mouthwatering crispness. Farnese is the success story of the region of Abruzzo (home to Montepulciano d'Abruzzo). 20-or-so years ago three 'musketeers' set about restoring pride to the name and this rugged stretch of the Adriatic coast. Since then their medal-tally has firmly established their reputation. At Italy's most prestigious showcase VinItaly Farnese emerged as the most awarded estate and their Trebbiano followed by collecting 'White of the Year' at the International Wine Challenge.
