Marques de Lavilla Rosado 2006 ROSE Spain

An award-winner every year for a decade this stunning rosado from Spain is "the most awarded rose in Navarra" - a region famed for its top-quality pinks. Made from 100% old-vine Grenache "the best grape for rose because it's so fruity" (Wine Spectator) this is the product of specialist Pilar Calvo. Grenache thrives in this area as fog from the River Ega moderates the warm daytime temperatures allowing the grapes to ripen slowly giving maximum flavour and concentration. The bodega's vineyards lie along the stony wind-swept terraces - the best place for rose Refreshing dry wine with a lovely pink hue. Aromas of sun-warmed rose petals and freshly picked strawberries. Bags of fresh ripe raspberries strawberries and black cherries.
