Chateau Macquin 2005 RED France

Chateau Macquin 2005 RED France
Saint-Georges Saint-Emilion now part of Montagne Saint-Emilion is one of this most esteemed wine region's satellite villages and a terrific source of excellent value top quality wines. In a great year such as 2005 there is little to distinguish a great wine such Chateau macquin from many a Grand Cru Saint-Emilion thanks in no small part to the similarity of the terroir. The vines are on average 55 years' old ensuring lovely concentration and the consultant winemaker is the renowned Jean-Claude Berrouet. This is a delicious oak-aged Merlot-rich wine with bags of plumy fruit and soft supple tannins.
