Chateau de la Font du Loup 2005 RED France

Chateau de la Font du Loup 2005 RED France
A wonderful wine with all the flavour you'd expect from top Chateauneuf ... Chateau de la Font du Loup is spicy rich and deliciously mouthfilling. Never more so than in 2005's "vintage of a liftime" (Decanter). Must-try stuff - and the critics love it too. "Sweet nose of black raspberries cherries licquorice some smoke - outstanding" wrote Robert Parker. Decanter and France's wine bible Guide Hachette are also fans. Chateau de la Font du Loup is named after the wolves that used to drink at the fountain found on the estate. More importantly its surrounding vineyards are on the very same La Crau plateau as those of #30-a-bottle Vieux Telegraphe - with vines up to 100 years old. These deliver incredibly low yields of intensely flavoured Grenache Syrah Mourvedre and Cinsault ... classic Chateauneuf grapes on top form in this glorious year. "Very dark purple/crimson with powerful aromas of smoky black cherries and sweet raspberries. An indulgent mouthful of juicy forest fruits with a delicious spicy herb edge. Long-lasting warming finish - and years of pleasure ... this will mature to 2013 if you can keep your hands off it!"
