Chateau Beau Site 2004 RED France

Chateau Beau Site is a Cru Bourgois Exceptionel and one of the oldest properties in the prestigious Haut-Medoc. From its high vantage point there is a fantastic view over the Gironde. The chateau belongs to the Casteja family who also own several other top Medoc estates. Aiming as always to produce the best wine they can the family engaged Professor Denis Dubourdieu of Bordeaux's Institute of Oenology as their winemaking consultant. After the heatwave of 2003 the 2004 vintage brought welcome relief and the return to a more classic style of claret in Bordeaux in which "the reds both Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon have a very intense colour fresh and ripe fruit and tannic richness". (Decanter). Chateau Beau Site 2004 has rich aromas of ripe black fruit cassis and toasty oak. It is a full-bodied tannic wine and while lovely now will develop enormous depths of richness and complexity with time.
