Part of their secret is the location of the vineyards which lie in the higher parts of the Rioja Alta region. Here the grapes benefit from the slightly cooler climate and longer ripening period and the resulting wines are elegant and complex. "Rich spicy aromas of strawberry and red currants develop into silky rounded vanilla tobacco and leather flavours coming from 6 months oak ageing.
