Torre Galasso Montepulciano 2004 RED Italy
Passionate small-estate winemaking doesn't come any better than this Riserva-quality gem. Made by medal-winning third-generation winemaker Ettore Galasso on his picturesque Abruzzo estate from ripest old-vine Montepulciano. "Montepulciano d'Abruzzo... has a robust heartfelt warmth that openly encourages you to take a deep swig" - Victoria Moore The Guardian In 2004 the hand-harvested old-vine fruit enjoyed long sunny days while cooling breezes off the Adriatic kept all the big bold flavours fresh and vibrant - Ettore described the harvest as 'ideal'. Deep ruby red with attractive aromas of damsons and hints of liquorice and spice. Intensely rich bramble fruit flavour with a silky layer of subtle sweet oak. Delicious with slow-roasted lamb or sipped with hard Italian cheeses.
