Seleccion de Plata Oak Aged 2004 RED Spain

Seleccion de Plata Oak Aged 2004 RED Spain
Seleccion de Plata is sourced from the Vino de la Tierra de Castilla region just south of Madrid. Made with 100% Tempranillo grapes the wine has been aged in American oak for 12 months then matured for a further six at Martinez Bujanda cellars in Oyon. The Bujanda family bought Finca Antigua in 1998 just as the true potential of the La Mancha region was starting to shine through. The family's vineyards are in the higher parts of la mancha at 2400 feet above sea level. The variation between day and night temperature can be as much as 21 degrees which promotes more pronounced aromatics in the grapes. The wine has a mid ruby-garnet colour with a ripe fruits and soft oak on the nose. Full flavoured with balanced fruit and oak leading to a rich finish with good length and a touch of spice.
