Pillastro Primitivo 2005 RED Italy

Pillastro Primitivo 2005 RED Italy
At last! A welcome return for one of our most popular wines - and it looks like it was definitely worth the wait. Pillastro has already won a host of awards and accolades from reputed judges (including Robert Parker!). We guarantee that after just one sip you'll be hooked on that fantastic silky soft fruit of Italy's most beguiling red. Made from small parcels of southern Italy's star grape Primitivo (Californian Zinfandel by another name) by star winemaker Angelo Maci this has been crafted with the standards you would expect from Tuscany's finest - and patiently aged in new oak barrels for added richness. Rich purple colour with aromas of chocolaty plums and spicy raisins. A thoroughly satisfying juicy mouthful that ripples with deep black fruit balanced by warm oak. "Lush and lovely" (Malcolm Gluck). Superb with roasts.
