Family run since its founding in 1889 by Joaquin Martinez Bujanda the 400-hectare Bodega is regularly voted Winery of the Year and was rated as "excellent" by top US critic Robert Parker. They use their own grapes for production retaining its exacting standards of quality control. Madurado spends 150 days in American oak before bottling and has a spicy oaky richness. Intense cherry red in colour there is plenty of fruit depth with a savoury snap at the end and lovely soft tannins.
