Marthinus Pinotage/ Shiraz 2005 RED South Africa

Marthinus Pinotage/ Shiraz 2005 RED South Africa
Few winemakers have mastered Pinotage as well as 'Tinus' Broodryk and this time there's a new twist on his award-winning Cape classic courtesy of South Africa's increasing acclaimed Shiraz plantings. Giving Australia reason to be nervous Shiraz adores the Cape's glorious sunshine. This combination of the Cape's signature grape with smooth rich Shiraz comes from Paarl's Wellington region - an area that's "showing promise especially with shiraz and gutsy red blends" (John Platter's South African Wine Guide). Intense spice and plenty of bramble fruit and cassis flavours. Notes of cedar and mellow tannins are accompanied by a long warm aftertaste. - making this a lovely choice for lamb and light game dishes.
