Les Deux Clochers Pinot Noir St Pourcain 2005 RED France

One of France's best-kept secrets (and the Loire Valley's oldest wine region) Saint Pourcain makes tiny amounts of delicious Pinot Noir. This historical but little known region was once a favourite of the French royal court and the French popes. Les Deux Clochers is a top find from a 5 star vintage for Loire reds. With careful tending Jacques Vigier keeps his yields very low giving his Pinot Noir - a variety notoriously difficult to grow - great quality and ripeness. With delicate red berry aromas this elegant refreshing red is brimful of soft fruity charm. Enjoy with game tomato-based pasta dishes and roast pork.
