Le Grand Caillol Merlot 2005 RED France

Made from the grape behind the luxuriant clarets of St-Emilion and Pomerol Grand Caillol is a textbook Merlot intended for everyday enjoyment. Like many clarets the cuvee contains a little Cabernet Sauvignon to add depth and complexity but it is completely unoaked to allow the fruitiness for which Provence reds are renowned to come shining through. Mide brick red with bright red plum and raspberry flavours. Gentle yet satisfying with lovely ripeness of flavour. Serve with grilled pork veal or rabbit casserole with a generous sprinkling of herbes de Provence.
