We discovered Las Casas de Vaqueria at the Donoso estate high in the hills of Chile's Maule Valley. The estate is celebrating 100 years of winemaking excellence and is blessed with row upon row of old Merlot vines. The warm climate here makes for a wonderfully smooth expression of Chile's speciality red grape. Deep attractive red-purple colour and aromas of ripe plums and sweet cinnamon. Spicy baked plum and blackberry flavour are layered with milk chocolate and earthy savoury notes. Lovely fireside sipper that will stand up to all kinds of festive fare turkey included.
