Las Casas de Vaqueria Carmenere 2006 RED Chile

Nestled high in the hills of Chile's Maule Valley lie the vineyards of the Donoso estate where the Carmenere vines for Las Casas de Vaqueria enjoy warm sunny days and cool nights. These temperature variations - of some 20 degrees celsius - give pure fruit flavours and crisp acidity in the grapes something of a trademark for wines from this region of Chile. With Carmenere "making some of Chile's most distinguished red wines" (The Times) now is definitely the time to start stocking up on this smooth intensely plummy wine. "Red in colour with violets hues. Mature plum rose petals and tea leaves on the nose. Medium bodied with good acidity giving a delicious finish. Enjoy with roast pork or duck or roasted peppers and farmhouse Cheddar."
