Holroyd Farm Oak-Aged Shiraz Petit Verdot 2005 RED Australia

There's a buzz around our tasting room caused by this new arrival ... a sensational turbo-charged red from a single vineyard every local winemaker wants to get the grapes from! Back in the 1940s the Aussie government gave plots of land like this to returned soldiers - but many knew nothing of farming or grape-growing and hired newly-arrived Italians to help out. At Holroyd Farm in stepped a delightful character Old Man Scarfone whose children tend the Shiraz and Petit Verdot vines to this day. The prized red soil yields grapes of extraordinary colour and depth. And to help celebrate a vintage acclaimed as the best in a decade multi medal-winning winemaker Sam Trimboli stepped in to make this special release for the family. Rich full-bodied red that perfectly marries plummy chocolaty Shiraz with Petit-Verdot ... blackberry and damsons trimmed by luscious vanilla oak.
