Groote Kaap Cabernet 2007 RED South Africa

Groote Kaap Cabernet 2007 RED South Africa
What a beast we unleashed when we challenged top Cape winemaker Franz Smit on Spier Estate to find us with the biggest richest red he could. His special project Groote Kaap 2006 delighted customers and became our quickest selling South African wine ever ... Groote Kaap Cabernet 2007 is a triumph of finesse and power from an exceptional year. Just as you'd expect of 100% Cabernet - it's a rich mouthful of staggeringly ripe cassis blackberries and plums plus the smoky red fruit aromas and spicy edge that only come from skillful oak-ageing. Then there's that warming velvety alcohol too - all 15.5% of it. Can't wait for you to try this! Make way for the mightiest glassful this Spring! Wonderfully heady aromas of smoky red fruit ... then oodles of rich ripe cassis blackberry and plum flavours. Nice spicy oak too with a luxuriously long finish and a velvety smoothness that belies its power. Absolutely terrific - serve with big juicy steaks or gourmet sausages.
