Grand Gaillard Merlot 2005 RED France

Grand Gaillard Merlot 2005 RED France
The Grand Gaillard name has for many years stood for reliability and wonderful value for money - that's why it's the bestselling Merlot in our history. 2005 is a magnificent vintage and our good friend Stephane Cardona reckons he's made the greatest Grand Gaillard yet. This is pure super-charged Merlot that gives many a claret from nearby Saint-Emilion a run for its money. This quiet corner of the Dordogne is in fact a continuation of Saint-Emilion's celebrated vineyards. And just like in Bordeaux the Merlot vines here enjoyed their finest vintage in decades. Gorgeous deep purple colour with aromas of plums damsons and redcurrants. The fleshy richness and succulence that claret lovers adore and a long fruit-filled finish. Perfect with barbecued steak. A lovely alternative to Bordeaux.
