Domaine du Prieure Saint Romain 2005 RED France

Here's a rare chance to secure your share of Beaujolais' remarkable 2005 vintage. Moulin a Vent is known as the 'King of Beaujolais' as the appellation produces the region's boldest most age-worthy reds and Domaine du Prieure Saint-Romain is one of the very best on our books. It's a small family-owned estate planted with 50-year-old vines. Vines of this age produce very small yields but quantity is of no importance ... it's quality that counts and smaller yields mean greater concentration. To gain even more fruit flavour the estate use the "saignees" method of extraction ... famed in the area for producing wines of astonishing depth of flavour. Aromas of ripe black fruits lead to satisfying mouthfuls of ripe cassis and red fruit all underpinned by delightful hints of violet and liquorice.
