From the mediaeval town of Horta de Sant Joan - inspiration to Picasso who started painting in the cubist style here and a symbol of Catalan pride - comes this smooth easy drinking red that reflects the very best of modern Spanish wine Made by local award-winning specialist Josep Gurrera Descarrega - who has worked in many of the top cellars in Catalunya and even made wine for the Vatican! - using classic Spanish grape Tempranillo (of Rioja fame) for smooth juicy red berry flavours plus a dash of Syrah for peppery spice. 2005 was an excellent vintage across Spain and as such the delicious strawberry and raspberry flavours this year are even more pronounced than normal. "Deep coloured intense ruby with pronounced aromas of spice and blackberry. Smooth on the palate well balanced and rounded. Delicious with meaty tapas and roasts."
