Chateau Morillon 2004 RED France

Englishman David Smith can give the Bordelais a run for their money with his wonderfully smooth red Bordeaux! He's one of a handful of non-Frenchmen to have qualified as a 'jeune agriculteur viticole' and has been involved in making wine since 1995 ... together with a little help from a Bordeaux-trained winemaker Jean Louis Vinolo. Apart from making delicious wines David puts his agricultural training to good use growing kiwi trees pomegranates flowering laurels and olive trees in the Chateau grounds. Perhaps a bit odd in a part of France so famed for its vines but the very fact that these plants can survive shows just how blessed the estate is - its unique microclimate means that frost hardly ever makes an appearance ... and shows why David's vines produce such concentrated juicy fruits! "Fantastically ripe and smooth with plenty of dark berry fruit damson and spice. Just the thing to enjoy with a traditional English roast!"
