Crafted by a local hero in a very good vintage from the old vines of an estate with over 200 years of heritage this delicious astillo Labastida Reserva is a must for all Riojan devotees. But hurry these are the last few bottles... Winemaker Manuel Ruiz Pedreira like his father before him is a true Riojan master having worked formerly at world famous Faustino Bodega. He coaxes an amazing depth of smooth flavour from the classic Tempranillo grapes before ageing in oak. Meticulous cellaring (a patient 12 months in oak and a further four in bottle) has added depth complexity and smooth hints of vanilla to the rich plum and chocolate flavours - exactly the qualities Spanish red aficianados really appreciate.
