Bodegas Martinez Corta 2006 RED Spain

The Martinez Corta family third generation wine growers are blessed with low yielding vineyards in the premium Rioja Alta. Unusually for Rioja the family own all the vineyards so they can ensure their vines receive the best care. It is the family's 30-year-old vines that are the key to their wine's quality - yielding such intensely coloured and deeply flavoured fruit that the family leave the vibrant flavours to speak for themselves. The 2006 vintage saw even lower yields giving the grapes great concentration - hand-picked to retain their fresh fruity appeal. Lovely deep ruby colour with ripe aromas of raspberries and flavours of blueberry and plum laced with spice. Excellent with roast lamb and mature cheeses.
