Andre Roux Old Vine Grenache 2004 RED France

Made by our great friend and veteran Rhone producer Andre Roux this massive Grenache has made a big impact in previous years in the 'Red Wines of the Year' rollcall of honour - scooping 'Best Big Red'. And at 15% - you can't get much bigger! The fruit was selected from the hillside vineyards of Chusclan where exposure to the Rhone sun ripened the grapes to a fullness beyond compare. Handpicked and carefully transported to the winery (to avoid being damaged) they were then treated to Andre's masterful winemaking skill. Round warming and dangerously moreish. Intense red fruit aromas and surprisingly silky rich dark fruit. Long-lasting flavours no harsh tannins. Delightful!
